Founded in 1820, The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary (NYEEI) is the nation's first specialty hospital. With a rich heritage and a mission of providing high quality patient care, community outreach, graduate and continuing medical education and scientific research, NYEEI is continually mentioned in US News and World Report's "America's Best Hospitals". In 2013, The New York Eye and Ear Infirmary became part of Mount Sinai Health System, one of the metropolitan area's largest hospital networks.

The New York Center for the Advancement of Breast Reconstruction within NYEEI is a unique center of excellence offering women every available option for breast cancer surgery and breast reconstruction. Innovative reconstructive breast surgery using the patient’s own tissue results in natural outcomes that many women find more comfortable and long-lasting than the standard breast implants that the majority of women undergo for breast reconstruction after cancer. NYEEI performs about 100 such cases a year, the tri-state area’s highest volume of breast reconstruction which uses the patient’s own tissue without muscle sacrifice. Nipple sparing mastectomies are also performed.

New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital

New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital is a 170-bed acute care teaching hospital that offers a full range of inpatient and outpatient services, community outreach and education. Founded by Elizabeth Blackwell in 1853, the hospital underwent many name changes before becoming one of the main campuses of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System in 2013. The hospital is an affiliate of Weill Cornell Medical College, and provides approximately 100,000 outpatient visits and 6,000 surgical procedures annually.

Established in 1857, Lenox Hill Hospital is a 652-bed, acute care hospital located on Manhattan's Upper East Side. Lenox Hill Hospital has earned a national reputation for outstanding patient care and innovative medical and surgical treatments. The Hospital is also a recognized leader in public health education and community outreach, and has proven to be an innovative leader in many fields. In May 2010, the hospital joined the North Shore-LIJ Health System.
