DIEP Flap Before and After
diep/siea flap before & after photos
The Deep Inferior Epigastric Perforator (DIEP) Flap uses excess fat and skin from the lower abdomen to recreate a soft, warm, and living breast. The DIEP flap is well suited to women who have excess abdominal tissue from previous pregnancy, women with an apple-shaped body habitus, or women who would like to undergo an abdominoplasty. Women who have had a previous Cesarian section are usually acceptable candidates for DIEP flaps. The scar from the DIEP flap donor site is similar to that of a tummy tuck, and the donor site shape after a DIEP flap results in a flatter, smoother abdomen.
